Diamonds Sparkle for Mothers Day Competition Winners
A sunny spring day was the perfect setting for Bethany Stevens, winner of Biagio the Jewellers Children’s Draw Your Mum Competition, to give her mum the beautiful diamond pendant valued at £960 she had won for Mothers Day.
Bethany, age 6 from Bicester was all smiles as she hugged her mum and gave her the diamond pendant. Bethany’s family came to join in the celebrations at the Thame store.
Bethany and her brother Daniel spotted the competition at home in a Biagio the Jewellers magazine, “I painted my mum with a sparkly necklace because she loves her sparkly jewellery” said Bethany and took it into Biagios at Bicester without Mum knowing.
Bethany’s Mum was so surprised when Biagio Patalano called to say Bethany had won First prize in the competition “Bethany was so excited jumping up and down in the playground saying I’m a winner when I picked her up from school” she commented.
“We have been overwhelmed by the entries and enjoyed seeing families from grandparents, dads and the children handing the paintings in, thank you to everyone who entered” said Biagio Patalano
Runners up were Hugh Vowles, age 12 from Quainton with a great pencil drawing of his Mum “My Dad saw the competition, I drew Mum in her favourite necklace and earrings, Dad dropped the drawing in on his way to work and I have been wanting the phone to ring to say we had won”. Hugh won Silver prize for his Mum, a sitting and framed cameo print with Tina Hadley Photography worth £370.
Maisie Ekins-Malcolm, age 4 from Bicester won Bronze prize, a Breil Milano Watch worth £175 with a colourful painting of her Mum.
All three pictures are being framed by Gallery Hadley as a keepsake for the Mums
